Account Changes ~ effective 01/01/2012, all accounts are DIY (do it yourself)

  • Dave Beall has retired from all web site development as of 1-1-2012.
  • Content and Publishing are now the responsibility of the owner of each web site.
  • Read my statement down the page.

    My new pass-time.

    Support changes ~ effective 01/01/2012

  • If your email quits, your server goes down, need configurations on your server, need a fresh install of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla or other software on your server. Let me know, I'll fix it quick as possible.
  • Have a question about how to do something? Those little settings that you just can't find or figure out, I may have been there once or twice over the last 15 years. Ask me, I just might know the answer.
  • I can help you with your control panel, MySql databases, phpMyAdmin, PHP.ini, all things domain related, email clients, FTP clients, open source software, Drupal, CSS, PHP, CGI, HTML, html editors, browsers, routers, switches, htaccess, robots files, directory permissions, security, password protected directories, shared architecture, and a huge laundry list of other boring stuff.

  • As long as your web site is working now, requires no changes, and your account is current, everything will continue to work as it always has.

  • All emails concerning technical issues, domain notices, billing, marketing and system notices are now sent to the web site owner. Most of those notices do not require attention, but watch them closely, because you never know when one is critical to your site.
  • If you have any question about the status of anything concerning your account, Login to your control panel and check on it. If you email me, I am going to reply with, "Did you login to your control panel and check it?"
  • Keep your account up to date in the control panel. When a card is denied, the data center will send an email, you need to answer the email and get things fixed before it's closed and gone. Data Center Billing 1.866.642.4678
  • Web Development is not included with hosting. Web site work, web site changes, or web site development are not included with a hosting account.
  • Web Site owners can leave all things as they are, Do-It-Yourself, hire a developer or pay a web site person to have changes made.
  • If you have any questions, send a message

    File issues

  • Some people have contacted me because some file was not visible or workable using FTP..
Any of those files can be handled easily using the File_Manager in your control panel.
  • If you are missing the file with all your account information, let me know, I will send you everything I have.
  • If you are getting up to speed with your web site and need all the old files I have for the site, let me know, I will send you everything I have.
  • If you have any questions, send a message

Need help getting your web site person or developer on board ?

  • If you have a web site person or developer that is handling your web site, provide me with their email address so I can help. I can set up a FTP account, get them up to speed with your web site setup, and help them with any server stuff they need.
  • If you prefer to relocate to another developer's platform for any reason, I will help you at no cost.
  • If you have any questions, send a message

    The data center

The previous owner of CoffeeCup Software started this hosting and data center years ago.
It is currently owned by EIC(Endurance International Corporation) with parent domains including BlueDomino,BizLand,AccountSupport and others.
The servers and data center are located on the East Coast, they are not effected by my retirement.
This data center is on track for the long term, it's a well run server room that has been up for 15 years or more.
They have a knowledgeable staff and keep things running as well as can be expected.
If you need something, call during business hours east coast time to reach the data center directly.

The following text is a statement from Dave Beall (retired web site developer).

I retired from Heavy Trucking on 6-1-1995, due to regulations. "I quit because of the US Government."
I retired from Web Development 1-1-2012, due to regulations and lack of funding.

The US Government has passed -and- is passing numerous new laws that are good for corporations, bad for business, bad for the internet, bad for people, bad for consumers, bad for content creators, bad for publishers, bad for web developers...... Create jobs? right, I quit...

Web Development was 96% funded by Lakeside Canvas. The money is no longer available due to the failed economy.

  • I am no longer accepting any new hosting accounts, unless you're building your own site.
  • I am no longer handling any files for anyone.
  • I am no longer doing any web site work or publishing.
  • I am no longer doing any computer troubleshooting, repairs or upgrades.
  • I am no longer doing any network setup, configurations or troubleshooting.
  • I removed 8 of the 9 computers from my office.
  • My high-bandwidth/high-data connection was downgraded to basic DSL. back to the slow lane...
  • I could not find any web developer willing to take my place that would work for free.
